Captions help people follow with the sound off and make your video more accessible. Here’s how to add them and keep them readable.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open Captions

In the Edit your video panel, open Captions.

  2. 2

    Add and style captions

Add captions to your project and choose a style that’s readable against your background.

  3. 3

    Fix names and terms

Correct product names, people’s names and jargon in the caption text. This changes only the words, not your recording.

  4. 4

Place them clear of the action

Keep captions away from the part of the screen you’re demonstrating.

  5. 5

    Check on a phone

Export, then watch the MP4 on a phone with the sound off.

Text annotations

For labels, step numbers or warnings, use Text to place an annotation exactly where it’s needed, and Layers to arrange, hide or lock it.
